Frederick Samuel grew up in the quiet corners of his father’s Sri Lankan printing press, where stories were not spoken but pressed into paper.
That early encounter with language shaped a lifelong fascination with the space between words and what they leave unsaid. His path has crossed continents, while writing remained a constant: a private act of preservation shaped by memory and myth.
His fiction ranges from historical reimaginings to speculative work about technology, identity and adaptation, but repeatedly returns to the same questions: what do people remember, what do systems erase, and what survives after power has moved on?
